Must Read

NASCAR Xfinity Series points leader Connor Zilisch sustained an unexpected injury while celebrating his latest win at Watkins Glen International. The 19-year-old driver broke his collarbone after slipping and falling off the roof of his car, turning his moment of triumph into an immediate trip to the hospital.

Celebration Gone Wrong

On Saturday, Connor Zilisch secured another victory in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Watkins Glen International in New York. However, his post-race celebrations took an unfortunate turn. As Zilisch climbed onto the roof of his No. 88 Chevrolet to commemorate his win, his left foot reportedly got caught on the window netting while he attempted to move. This caused him to tumble awkwardly and fall hard onto Victory Lane.

Connor Zilisch slips and falls off his car after winning the NASCAR Xfinity Series' latest race.

Following the fall, Zilisch remained still on the ground before medical personnel quickly attended to him. He was transported to the trackside medical center and then to a local hospital via ambulance for further evaluation.

Injury Confirmed and Series Lead Maintained

Zilisch later provided an update on his condition via X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday evening. He confirmed that he had been released from the hospital and was already feeling better. “Thankfully, CT scans for my head are clear, I just have a broken collarbone,” Zilisch posted, expressing gratitude for the quick attention from medics and relief that the injury wasn’t worse.

Despite the setback, Connor Zilisch remains the leader in the NASCAR Xfinity Series standings with 823 points. He holds a seven-point lead over Justin Allgaier, who is in second place. Zilisch has had an impressive season, having won a series-leading six races.
