Hai Phong to host Vinpearl Equestrian Cup 2025 with an international-standard competition model

Must Read

On 29–30 November 2025, the Vinpearl Vu Yen Equestrian Academy (Hai Phong) will host the Vinpearl Equestrian Cup 2025, with the competition system operated according to the standards of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI). The event marks a new milestone as equestrian sports appear for the first time in the form of a professional tournament in Vietnam. Bringing this competitive model closer to the public carries significance beyond sports, helping expand healthy entertainment options and providing access to modern sports culture in a coastal city that is developing its tourism and service infrastructure.

Community-based activities in the November-end event

Vinpearl Equestrian Cup 2025 is expected to combine competitions with a series of spectator-focused activities. Highlights include a parade featuring many horse breeds from domestic and international farms, along with equestrian artistry performances by experienced athletes.

The family interaction zone is arranged with photo sessions with the horses, visits to the fair, and outdoor spaces. The picnic area allows attendees to follow the competitions fully, providing a hands-on experience of a sport that is rarely visible to the general public.

This expanded community-focused approach demonstrates efforts to bring equestrian sports closer to the public in a friendly and accessible way.

FEI-standard competition model right in Vietnam

Vinpearl Equestrian Cup 2025 is operated according to FEI standards, from obstacle layout to scoring procedures. The two main categories, Show Jumping and Gymkhana, both require precise control between the rider and the horse.

In the Show Jumping section, athletes must clear obstacles 70–80 cm high following a technical course. Each jump, landing direction, and speed adjustment directly affects the ranking. Gymkhana evaluates the ability to navigate slalom, zigzag, gait transitions, and circular patterns, demanding continuous focus on the field.

The international judging panel directly oversees the evaluation process based on clear criteria. Standardizing the competition system domestically provides a foundation for Vietnamese athletes to gain long-term experience.

A tri-tier system suitable for all age groups

The tournament is divided into three groups based on skill level and training objectives:

  • Children’s Group (Basic Gymkhana): trains steering skills, following patterns, and maintaining a steady rhythm when passing ground-level poles.

  • Amateur Group (Advanced Gymkhana): adds requirements such as slalom, zigzag, gait transitions, and speed control within tight circles.

  • Professional Group (70–80 cm Show Jumping): for athletes with formal training, demonstrating obstacle-jumping techniques according to international competition standards.

The tiered structure helps participants set goals for each stage. Total prizes worth hundreds of millions of dong are awarded across categories, recognizing the specific achievements of the athletes.

Seamless interorganizational cooperation

Vinpearl Equestrian Cup 2025 is organized and implemented by the Vinpearl Vu Yen Equestrian Academy in coordination with On Connect Holdings JSC. The Hai Phong City Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Federation (Hai Phong City) provide support for recruitment and program promotion.

The sponsor system includes Vinpearl Horse Academy Vu Yen (Main Sponsor), On Global Holdings (Platinum Sponsor), On Beauty Global and On Edu Global (Gold Sponsors), along with other partner brands and media supporters across various sectors. Participation from multiple organizations helps ensure smooth implementation and broadens audience reach.
